On Efficiency…
There are many schools of thought on efficiency – mine is simple and straight forward. As a definition, efficiency is the actions and continual process toward functioning at optimal capacity. And it’s twin, effectiveness, is doing those things that bring about the desired outcome. Together, they give you the best opportunity for reaching optimal capacity.

Efficiency is a state or way of being that constantly morphs as things evolve, therefore it is not an end destination. It has many levels and degrees. We all operate at some level of efficiency. Where are you? Where do you want to be?


On The Practitioner Approach…
In the discipline of efficiency and effectiveness, I use both science and art to diagnose, treat, and prevent “dis-ease” and stabilize the fundamental foundation. You’ll discover I have a sensitive, yet powerful approach to evaluating and uncovering the underlying root cause and ways to treat it. (I will not treat symptoms.)

You are best served by my unbiased, objective outside view as I ask the hard questions, avoided questions and unknown questions. Then, I guide you to sound efficiency decision-making. From there, you choose whether to take on the changes yourself, hire someone else or invite me to support the building of the key efficiency muscles, so future levels become more comfortable, hard choices easier, and the evolving process less frightening.



Additional Professional Tidbits…
As a volunteer, I have been a Learning Annex Instructor on Mastering Cold Calling, reoccurring writer for UCSD Connect, and advisor to start-up companies in incubators, regional business programs, and VC mentor programs. In addition, I was elected as a volunteer 2004 President of the High-Tech Marketing Alliance, and the 2007 AeA (now TechAmerica) Sales & Marketing Roundtable Co-Chair, while consulting through my own firm.

My passion for learning fuels the “practitioner” in me to continually learn, apply, and refine efficiency. Over the years, I have attended a large number of seminars on business, sales, personal development, and human dynamics. Some of these include Sandler Sales Institute, OZ Enterprises, IBM Solution Selling, PAX Programs, Tom Hopkins, Zig Ziglar, Landmark Education, Reverse Selling, Relationship Selling, Dealing with Difficult People, Quality Control, and Consultative Selling, as examples.

My degrees are a B.S. in Mathematical Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.S. in Management Marketing from the University of Maryland.
